WhatsappThe person killed in the air force attack in Sidon in Lebanon today (Wednesday) is Khalil al-Maqdi, the brother of the Fatah official in Lebanon, Munir al-Maqdah, and a former senior member of the terrorist organization himself and currently active in the Iranian Quds Force. The attack was carried out by an unmanned aircraft. At the same time many alarms in the north due to fear of hostile aircraft infiltration.
The IDF and the Shin Bet reveal that Munir Makdeh, a resident of the Palestinian refugee camp Ein al Halwa in Lebanon, has been working for several years for Hezbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, to recruit elements in the territories of Judea and Samaria, to promote the execution of attacks and the smuggling of IDF.
The IDF confirmed: “The IDF and ISA continue a series of eliminations in Lebanon of terrorists that are directing terrorist activity in Judea and Samaria on behalf of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).”
“Earlier today (Wednesday), with the direction of the IDF and the ISA, an IAF aircraft struck the terrorist Khalil Hussein Khalil Al-Maqdah in the area of Sidon in southern Lebanon.
“Khalil is the brother of Mounir Al-Maqdah, a resident of Lebanon who operates on behalf of the Hezbollah terrorist organization and the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and is continuing attempts to carry out terror attacks. The two collaborate on behalf of the IRGC and are involved in the direction of terror attacks as well as the smuggling of weapons and funds designated for terrorist activities into Judea and Samaria.”
As part of the investigation in the case, in recent months a number of wanted persons have been caught who have admitted that they worked for Munir. In the days when Israel is operating in Lebanon, publishing his identity is no small thing and is a clear and deliberate warning.
As the hostage deal negotiations appear to be on the verge of collapse, Iran is expected to launch a multi front attack. One of the fronts will be Judea and Samaria, where Iran has heavy influence through the Hamas movement. Striking Munir Makdeh, is a real message that Israel is serious out taking apart the Iranian proxies no matter where they are.
