The Minister of Internal Security Itamar Ben-Gvir was accosted by Jihadist supporting protestors at Yale university and instead of backing down he turned around and flashed the victory sign with his fingers at them. They of course reacted in an uproar, just as Minister Ben-Gvir assumed they would.

Why is this altercation important? Since the beginning of the war anti-Israel antisemites have bullied Jewish students across the country. These students have had very little recourse aside from holding vigils, speaking to congressmen, and suing the schools. What Minister Ben-Gvir did was to show them in a real physical way - not to back down. This approach is truly the only real approach in dealing with these sorts of people.

In reality none of these kaffiyeh wearing faux terrorist supporters have ever met a Jew like Itamar Ben-Gvir. He is not “white” and not afraid to deal these sorts of people. Those of us who live near him in Kiryat Arba/Hebron know the neighbors we have. They aren’t school students pretending to be Hamas supporters – our neighbors are real Hamas members. Living near them changes a person - toughens them up and gives a clear reality based approach to life.

It is time for American Jews and those Jews on the left here to recognize that we Jews in Judea and Samaria are not going anywhere and in fact it was we the so called “settlers” that knew all along that the Arabs amongst us – especially the ones in Gaza and Judea and Samaria were preparing to attack and slaughter us. Of course instead of apologizing after years of vilification here and abroad, the attacks against Itamar Ben-Gvir and all of us on the right side of Israel’s political map have only grown.

The Jewish people’s enemies around the world are not going away any time soon and it is imperative that Jews in America realize that the only way to hold back the tidal wave of hate against our people is by standing strong and firm on our eternal right to live in our ancestral homeland of Israel.

Ultimately, the best answer to this vile hatred of the Jewish people is stop pretending you can fix a broken society and get on the next plane out of there and finally come home to Israel. Every Jew that moves from the exile back to the Land of Israel, brings us one step closer to victory.

During the Second Intifada I experienced a tremendous amount of hate on Hunter College’s campus where I went to school. I graduated that year and then took a plane to Israel. It is time for this generation of Jews in America to stand strong, but also know when its time to leave and come home to the only Land truly worth fighting for - the Land of Israel!
