Following Ramadan prayers on Friday night, Muslim worshippers on the Temple Mount threw bottles and rocks at police officers. In response Israel’s police entered the Temple Mount and riots ensued and seemed to engulf the Temple Mount and the eastern neighborhoods of Jerusalem.

Arab riots swept through Jerusalem and high tension areas across Israel. Prime Minister Netanyahu and Opposition Leader Yair Lapid have both given full backing to the police.

In a statement, Israel Police said: “We will not allow riots, violence and attempts to harm police officers through taking advantage of the freedom of worship and religion, and turning it into a violent incident.

“We will respond with a heavy hand to all violent disturbances, riots and attacks on our forces.”

Despite the heavy hand Israel police have used against the violent riots, spurred on by Iranian and Hamas incitement, the riots have continued.

Hamas spokesman Abu Obeida said on Saturday night: “We salute out staunch followers in Jerusalem and Al Aqsa Mosque. Our commander Muhammed Deif made you a promise and he will not go back on it.”

Worse, the Saudis and UAE have publicly warned Israel and blamed the government for the riots.

“The United Arab Emirates has also condemened the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli authorities, stressing the need for them to assume responsibility in accordance with international law.”

The US State Department released the following statement:

“Leaders across the spectrum must denounce all violent acts. Security services must ensure the safety of all of Jerusalem’s residents and hold all perpetrators to account.”

The statement went on to express that the Department is “deeply concerned about the potential eviction of Palestinian families in Sheikh Jarrah and Silwan neighborhoods of Jerusalem, many of whom have lived in their homes for generations.”

“It is critical to avoid steps that exacerbate tensions or take us farther away from peace. This includes evictions in East Jerusalem, settlement activity, home demolitions, and acts of terrorism.”

The above statement of course reveals the real nature of the Biden Administration. Israel’s evictions of arabs in Sheik Jarrah and Silwan is merely removing known squatters and thieves that had been living in Jewish homes that had been stolen from their real owners by arab armies in 1948 and the arab pogroms of the early 1900s.

The current battle over Jerusalem is not only between arabs and Jews, but now the US, who appears to be willing to ignore history in order to side with arabs against the Jewish state. While the Israeli government is in disarray, and Israel’s list of allies continues to shrink, the Israelis are beginning to wonder if there is a way out of the mess they are in. All of this is on the eve of Yom Yerushalayim – Jerusalem Day. Perhaps another miracle is upon us.
