Arnold said the following, “They did not just break down the doors of the building that housed American democracy. They trampled the very principles on which our country was founded.” Furthermore, he said about the Nazis that, “It all started with lies, and lies and lies, and intolerance.” Of course, the fact that in the Capitol riots, some of the rioters broke the glass windows of the Capitol building draws comparison to the “Night of Broken Glass” in Nazi Germany. But that is where the comparison ends.
Once again we see the holocaust, and the memory of the 6 million Jews murdered by the Nazis, being abused by a political agenda.
Ben Shapiro said it best…

In 1938, the Nazi party, led by Adolf Hitler, following years of racist ideological and political decisions that dehumanized the Jewish people, led a massive State-sponsored pogrom against the Jewish people across Germany. Hundreds of synagogues were destroyed by the Nazi police and Army and thousands of Jewish men were incarcerated in concentration camps. Hundreds of Jews were killed on that night, and hundreds more were killed due to the concentration camp torture and starvation they endured. Again, this was led by the entire leadership of the ruling German Nazi Party.
The recent Capital building riot was not an “insurrection” or a “coup”. We do not even know who actually was behind instigating the actual violence. Were they Trump supporters? Were they antifa? Why were some police given orders to open the doors and let them into the building, as seen in this video? Most of the people walking through the halls of the Capitol were taking pictures and just plain sightseeing. Does the fact that a few idiots using violence mean an “insurrection” was taking place at the behest of the President? Too many questions exist to just blame President Trump and his supporters for what happened. Too many questions that the establishment media is not asking.
Anyone who used violence should be punished, regardless of their political affiliation. That was terribly wrong. But as President Trump himself said in his video yesterday “anyone who used violence is not a supporter of mine. We are the party of law and order”. To say that this incident was a “coup” is terribly wrong
And to equate the glass that a few crazy rioters broke in the Capitol to the massive Nazi State-sponsored burning of hundreds of synagogues and massive incarceration of thousands of Jews in concentration camps, is patently absurd. President Trump may indeed be a controversial President to his haters, but turning him into a Nazi, is as reasonable as saying that Barack Obama is the American equivalent of a Stalinist Soviet.
Let us all calm down and think twice before making historical analogies that are no more than gross exaggerations that are far removed from the truth.
