Campus antisemitism took a turn for the worse after Oct. 7. And that seems counterintuitive to anyone with a moral head on his shoulders.
Looking at Campus Antisemitism
It is truly disturbing what young Jewish students have had to face since Oct. 7. You would think that people would come out in support of the Jewish people after Hamas and Gazan civilians broke into Israel and massacred, burned, and tortured the old and young alike. Jewish men, women, and children were brutally murdered and taken hostage. Things happened that are too disturbing for the mind to process.
And then on college campuses in America, what happened? Students came out and attacked Jewish students. They claimed that Jews commit genocide against the so-called “Palestinian” Arabs right after these so-called “Palestinian” Arabs committed genocide against the Jewish people. It was the worst massacre in Israeli history, and that is specifically when campus antisemitism escalated.
Students deserve to enjoy their college years and experiences. No one deserves to be harassed the way Jewish students have been. The hatred is terrifying.
Despite all the horrors, so many students have chosen to embrace their Judaism and fight back. They have chosen to stand up to the hatred by connecting to their Jewish roots even more. They have not fought back by terrorizing others the way others have terrorized them. Instead, they have fought back by fighting for morals and truth. These young students are inspiring. They are making a difference. They are making the entire Jewish nation proud. Am Yisrael Chai!
