Jerusalem

Home Jerusalem

3,000 Years Old

Since King David, Jerusalem is the capital city of the Jewish people. Although our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob traveled through the area, it was King David who established Jerusalem as the capital of the first Jewish Kingdom. Ever since then, this holy city continues to be the heart of the Jewish nation. Throughout all of the exiles, the Jewish people have prayed towards Jerusalem.  The Jewish people remember it's holiness constantly in their prayers. Most of all, on the holiest day of the Jewish calendar, Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, Jews remember where their hearts truly lie. They cry out "Next Year in Jerusalem." This has been going on for countless generations. It is no wonder that when the Jewish people were granted the freedom to come back - they came - in droves. The city unifies the Jewish people.  No matter what the backgrounds - the holy city is in their hearts. Today, it is no longer divided - it will stay as the Jewish capital of the State of Israel forever.
