This video shows a devastated young girl, Reut Solomon, speaking about the loss of her father. He was murdered by a terrorist while protecting his family last summer. There is no better way to witness and internalize the raw emotion of loss the Nation of Israel feels on Israel Memorial Day.

Last July the Solomon family got together for the Sabbath. The children and grandchildren were all invited for a special Shabbat weekend at the grandparents home. Unfortunately, the wonderful family get together turned into a tragedy.  A terrorist entered the Solomon home while they were enjoying a family Friday night Shabbat meal. After stabbing and injuring one, the terrorist then killed the patriarch of the family and two of his adult children. The rest of the family, children and grandchildren ran upstairs to hide.

One of the adult children Elad, despite a stab wound, fought with the terrorist until his last breath. His struggle succeeded in saving the lives of his mother, siblings, wife and children, who were all hiding upstairs.

Israel Memorial Day is a day when the Nation of Israel memorialize Israel’s fallen soldiers and terror victims.  Elad’s daughter Reut spoke at the national memorial ceremony at Israel’s Parliament, the Knesset.  There is not a dry eye in the room as she talks about her father.

All of Israel is looking forward to the day when we no longer experience terror and the losses associated with it.

The Halamish Terror Attack

“A celebration of life turned into a bloodbath when a terrorist took the lives of Yosef Salomon, 70, and his children Haya, 46, and Elad, 36 — three innocent people sitting at their dining table,” a statement from the residents of Hamalish said.

“This is not the first time that our community has been struck by terror. Our resolve remains strong and we will continue to build a better life for our children, here in our ancestral homeland,” it said.

“We have always reached out to our neighbors in peace but the incitement and murder continues. We call upon the government of Israel to return security to our community and all of Israel immediately.”
