People talk about the growing antisemitism in Europe. But indeed, it is not only Europe. The sad truth is that antisemitism has hit America hard as well. New York, Florida – you name a state, and there has probably been some form of antisemitism. Swastikas, burning down places of Torah study, children being targeted in schools. The reality is that Jewish people worldwide are feeling it. Antisemitism is alive and growing. And we are in 2019.
Moreover, why do we also have to be feeling the hate in America’s Democratic party? Racism is not some far off concept for American Jews. It is all too present. How did certain congresswomen get voted in to America’s congress?
Growing Antisemitism in Democrats
The antisemitism in the Democratic party is only getting worse. With the newest members including Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the party has a questionable future. If Jews in America cannot rely on their own government to stop antisemitism, then what will be? What will America’s future look like?
The Democratic party used to support the Jewish state and the Jewish people. But there is so much anti-Israel sentiment in the party now that it seems to be taking over. Which direction will the party take? Will they be able to overcome the antisemitism? What will happen in the 2020 elections? Only time will tell…
