WhatsappThe US has continued to move more and more heavy equipment in the Middle East, including B-52 bombers and F-35s as well as increased naval strikes in the Persian Gulf area in an attempt to pressure Iran into giving up its nuclear ambitions. No country in the world would move these sorts of military assets to a region unless they were seriously about to use them. So if this is the case, why did Steve Witkoff, President Trump’s special envoy claim that the US was open to compromise and only seeking to prevent weaponization of their nuclear program – similar to the Obama era goal and redline?
Trump’s continued use of Witkoff as a negotiator has irked many Iran Hawks and anti-Islamists in Trump’s orbit. This is mainly due to Witkoff’s shady connections to Qatar, the main backer and exporter of Muslim Brotherhood ideology worldwide. Whether Witkoff is compromised or not remains to be seen, but the fact that Iran demanded that Steve Witkoff lead the negotiations with them and not Marco Rubio should sound alarm bells.
President Trump has capable people in Mike Waltz and Marco Rubio and yet prefers a real estate lawyer with Qatari connections. Why is Trump using Steve Witkoff over and over again for Hamas, Russia, and now Iran?
The fact is, President Trump is using Steve Witkoff as a distraction and a way to get first interaction intel and information on US enemies. Let’s use Gaza as an example. By using Witkoff as a negotiator, Trump was able to deceive Hamas into thinking there would be a permanent ceasefire. This led to their overreach at the hostage release gatherings giving Israel the intel it needed to take out Hamas leadership once the ceasefire fell apart. Ground operations are also far easier than in the beginning of the October 7th conflict. Israel has already taken between 20% and 30% of Gaza and currently squeezing Hamas into handing over more hostages. So despite Witkoff’s connections to Qatar, Israel is gaining ground and Trump is 100% behind them.
Witkoff has also been involved with Russia and before his meetup with Iran met with Putin on behalf of Trump but with no new outcome other than to reveal to everyone that Putin is playing games and not serious about ending the war.
So what is Witkoff doing with Iran? Nothing, other than it is part of a greater game. Trump knows the Iranian regime is not serious about ending their nuclear ambitions. By sending someone who may very well be compromised by the Qataris, Trump is creating geo-political chaos by confusing Iran as he moves assets into the region. Remember, Iran and Russia are aligned, if he can keep one of them dancing while the other is taken out, Trump will spare a lot more lives than sparking a multi-polar war that risks turning into a global conflict.
The US military is coming for the Mullahs, that appears to be a foregone conclusion, but President Trump wants them to keep guessing before the strike and make sure Putin stays out of it by dangling Ukraine in front of him. Trump knows, if Iran can be taken out, Putin will lose his mass produced assassin drones and China will lose its energy. Witkoff is the ultimate distraction to make this happen.
