Iran is not just a major military threat to Israel and the Middle East on it’s own. It works through it’s many proxies in the area to pester, threaten, and often bomb it’s enemies. So despite the fact that the sanctions are working and taking a very heavy toll on the Iranian economy, Iran still is a major power. It has a powerful proxy in the Hezbollah in Lebanon, and an important proxy down south in Gaza with the Hamas. Both of these two terrorist organizations wield enormous amounts of weaponry – specifically missiles – that they have pointed at Israel.
