WhatsappIn the early morning hours of Wednesday, the IDF ground invasion pushed forward into the heart of Rafah as well as the Tel Sultan neighborhood - a known nerve center for Hamas activity. Reports also suggest that Israel started to attack Khan Yunis as well. These are not forays, but appears to be part of a larger strategy to exert permanent control over the Gaza Strip.
At the beginning of the operation Defense Minister Katz wished the IDF soldiers entering eastern Rafah success and safety. He said the IDF is expanding its offensive against Hamas in Gaza, explaining that soldiers will move to clear areas “of terrorists and infrastructure, and capture extensive territory that will be added the State of Israel’s security areas.”
This is important appears to be the beginning of the implementation of a broader strategy that may push the Gazans to finally take on Hamas and hand over the hostage. Islamists don’t care about losing their lives, but what they care about is losing land. By losing land they become a disgrace to their fellow Muslims.
One question to ask – does a security zone mean Israel is about to start annexing Gazan territory? Will Trump recognize the annexation? While all of this remains to be seen, one thing is clear – Israel is taking off the gloves and finally fighting the way it should have.
So will Hamas make a deal? Most likely not yet. However, what is happening is that more and more Gazan land is being transferred to Israel, which will leave Hamas isolated or dead and perhaps when that happens a deal for the rest of the hostages will finally happen. Gazans, like the rest of the so called “palestinians” and their Jihadist supporters in the broader Muslim world will only stop fighting Israel and the Jewish people when they realize that their wars end in their defeat and a total loss of the land they are squatting on. The more we the Jewish people understand that this Land - all of it is ours the more our victory is certain - nothing else will defeat the Jihadists except for this.
