This video shows a group of Israeli Arabs protesting the arrest of the Lions’ Den members. Lions’ Den is a terrorist group based out of Shchem. Wednesday morning the IDF executed a raid and captured multiple members of the group. Many more turned themselves over to the PA.
The protest by Arab Israelis agains the arresting of the group’s members is alarming as it shows the continued radicalization of Israeli Arabs. While there are certainly law abiding Israeli Arabs, the growing radicalization is reminiscent of a similar trend in the 1970s.
There has always been a tremendous emphasis placed by all Israeli governments on the difference between Israeli Arabs and “palestinian” Arabs. However, this is one of the great lies found deep within Israel’s psyche. At the end of the day Israeli Arabs and “palestinian” Arabs are essentially the same and we are seeing this now. Israeli Jews have the same fear of being attacked if they are in Umm Al-Fahm or whether they stray into Shchem.
Ever since the Ramadan riots of 2021, the Israeli public realized that for Arabs there is no Green Line, all parts of Israel are the same. This realization is what is behind the rise of Itamar Ben-Gvir as he is the only politician identifying the systemic problems in allowing an enemy culture to thrive in the Holy Land unbounded and restrained.
Will Israelis continue to opt for chaos and violence or usher in a new era of safety and security?
