Jeopardy Gets Its Israel History Right

In an episode of Jeopardy, the location of the Church of Nativity, located in Bethlehem was asked. Although one of the contestants answered “Palestine” the correct answer was Israel, as it should be.

The Jeopardy moment has irked pro-“Palestinian” activists as they claim that Bethlehem as being part of their mythical state of “Palestine” must have been located in it back then too.

Of course, legally speaking there is no current State of “Palestine” with agreed upon borders. Area A, administered by “Palestinian” Authority is not a sovereign entity or a state. While Israel has not formally annexed Judea and Samaria, which includes Bethlehem, it currently is the only recognized sovereign in control of the area.

While many “Palestinian” activists claim adherence to the belief in a mythical, ancient “Palestine” it is merely a region that had been administered by the British. In fact, the word “Palestinian” was often used synonymously with Jews that were living there.

Israel is merely the Jewish sovereign name for the same area that the League of Nations agreed was the Jewish People’s, which essentially means that we the Jewish people have every right to rename the area of “Palestine” the name of our choosing.

With all of this background, one can easily see why Jeopardy made the decision it did on the location of the Church of Nativity.
