WhatsappThere has never been a friendlier President of the United States towards Israel than President Trump. If there was any doubt in that statement, his change of policy towards communities in Judea and Samaria is a clear indicator of how much he loves the State of Israel. With that, veteran activist Nadia Matar thanks the President for recognizing the truth about the “settlements.”
“The sovereignty movement welcomes and congratulates President Donald Trump for his historic declaration about the fact that Judea and Samaria and the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria are not international law, are legal, which we always knew. It’s time to say thank you to President Trump. Thank you President Trump,” Matar said in the above video.
Although international law has been quite clear that any land taken in a defensive war can be held by the one which was attacked, the UN and EU pushed by a pro-Arab agenda have long held that Jewish communities called “settlements” are illegal. This of course has led to the growing BDS movement around the world. Trump’s change of policy was perhaps also aimed at the BDS movement, which has been targeting Israeli products for some time. The EU had just passed a law demanding that Israeli products manufactured or grown over the Green Line be labeled. President Trump’s policy change showed how he and his administration are diametrically opposed to such boycotting.
Whether the new policy is a green light to annexation like many on the right believe may be a stretch, but the policy does give a big boost to activities in Judea and Samaria and for now that is an amazing turn of events.
