Raqaa city workers have uncovered more mass graves. This time near the Syrian city of Raqaa. Another sign of the barbarism of the ISIS Muslim caliphate.
ISIS made Raqqa thir de facto capital when it they siezed the city in 2014. Syrian forces libterated the city from ISIS in 2017. ISIS destroyed most of the city.
ISIS was ruthless, carrying out public killings across its self-declared caliphate, beheading, shooting and stoning perceived offenders to death. They also drowned people in large pools while locked in metal cages.
When residents returned to their homes they began searching for the mass graves of families and friends.
The search for more mass graves is ongoing to remove more bodies. They are trying their best to identify the dead in order to hand their remains over to their families.
Mass grave found in #Raqqa: when the city was still under ISIS control in September 2016, soldier Matei of the @SyriacMFS told me that freed civilians were talking about daily public executions in the capital of the Caliphate. Unfortunately, some bad surprise are yet to come. pic.twitter.com/vAFhRUhZBO
