The short video is designed as a fake trailer for a show that is a parody of Real Housewives. There are actually some fun shots thrown at Islamists, feminists, and the religion of Islam itself. It’s very politically incorrect, which means it’s way funnier than anything the BBC has ever done before.
Are you surprised to see British Muslims get offended for a comedy mocking ISIS? The truth is that this kind of irreverent humor is a rarity. We live in such an “easily offended” day and age, that even mocking terrorists is considered by so many as improper.
This is wrong. Humor is good. And the most important people to poke fun of are the most dangerous people. If we have lost our sense of humor, then we have lost so much. In a world where there are so many challenges all around us, let us at least retain our ability to laugh at the ridiculous norms around us. Let’s keep laughing – at the bad guys.
