Since Nikki Haley became the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, she has strongly supported Israel. Haley has not been afraid to speak the truth and show the world what they seem to be missing. Even when no one else will defend Israel, she takes her stand and stands tall.
“Palestinian” negotiator gives advice
Saab Erekat thought it would be beneficial to give Nikki Haley advice. In response, Haley said, “I sit here today offering the outstretched hand of the United States to the “Palestinian” people in the cause of peace…we welcome you as the leader of the “Palestinian” people here today. But I will decline the advice I was recently given by your top negotiator Saab Erekat. I will not shut up. Rather, I will respectfully speak some hard truths.” And that is exactly what she continued to do.
Nikki Haley’s “Hard Truths”
Haley discusses the “Palestinian” leadership’s choice to incite and promote violence rather than pursue peace. She mentions Egypt and Jordan who successfully made peace with Israel by their willingness to negotiate and compromise. But because the “Palestinian” leadership chooses the path of violence at every turn, Haley emphasizes the fact that it leads to “nothing but hardship for the ‘Palestinian’ people.” While other nations try to destroy Israel at the UN, Haley speaks the truth.
Standing Strong with Israel
The Palestinian leadership is upset by the United State’s decision to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem, clearly marking the U.S.’s position that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. Not only does this U.S. administration talk the talk and defend Israel at the UN, but they have also demonstrated their strong support for Israel in action as well. VP Mike Pence’s historic visit to Israel and the Western Wall is just one example. Nikki Haley’s speech just confirms the strong ties between Israel and the U.S. and proves the U.S. will not let Israel fall by the wayside. And THAT is definitely something to celebrate.
