Whatsapp12 kilometers down into the heart of the Earth, Russian scientists found evidence of water. This was rather surprising to many people. But to God-fearing people, this barely raises an eyebrow. The truth of the Bible is not a question to many people. It is a given that is accepted by hundreds of millions of people. But it still is fascinating whenever any forms of scientific evidence comes to light about the Bible.
Noah and The Flood
The flood took place around 4,000 years ago in the area of Mesopotamia, the cradle of civilization. In the story of the flood, God ordered Noah to build a massive ship as He told Noah that he plans on destroying nearly the entire world. God saw a world that was filled with corruption of all kinds and decided to “start over.” He chose Noah as the person to build the world out of, as He saw Noah as an honest and righteous person in a sea of corruption. Noah was commanded to bring 2 of every animal into the ship and 7 of every kosher animal into the ship. Noah came in with his wife, 3 sons, and 3 daughter-in-laws. Everybody else was killed in the Great Flood. This was a seminal event in world history, a sort of reset to the world.
Noah lived for 950 years. At the end of his life, another righteous person was born, Abraham. Through Abraham, God built up His Chosen People and sent Abraham, and his wife Sara, up towards the Land of Israel. From thereon in, the world would never be destroyed again. God put in place the idea of a rainbow as a sign that he would never destroy the world again. Now it is up to us to make sure we do our part to preserve the world. Corruption must never become dominant in our world. Justice and peace should be the twin pillars of life.
