Anyone who is truly concerned with human rights would join demonstrations against the terrorists of Hamas. However, what occurred following October 7th was the reverse for tens of thousands of people who hate Jews. They spoke up for the rights of Arab women and children who they claimed were being oppressed by Israel. All of this took place BEFORE Israel responded by responding to the Hamas massacre with a massive counter-attack of Hamas.
Hundreds of Israelis, mostly left-wing peace-loving pacifists who believed in and worked towards coexistence with Arabs were taken hostage by Hamas terrorists. The subhuman conditions that they were treated in are hard to listen to. Tens of hostages were brutally murdered. It is exactly these conditions that tens of thousands of Jew-hating demonstrators across college campuses actually supported.
When they chanted “From the River to the Sea,” they supported kidnapping Jewish grandmothers, torturing Jewish men and women, and killing Jewish babies. There is no way around the facts. The massive groundswelling support for the Hamas terrorists displayed the troubling and stark reality that there are tens of thousands of avowed Jew-haters in powerful positions all over college campuses across the United States.
Anyone who can yell at Israel for being the “oppressors” while ignoring the Hamas terrorists simply does not believe in the sanctity of a life of a Jew. It must be said – these people are no different than those who supported the systematic dehumanization and killing of Jews during World War II.
The United States of America had been in the midst of a massive swing to the progressive off-the-cliff values system. Part of those values included hating Jews but blaming Israel as a cover for displaying their Jew hatred. Thankfully, America has taken a turn towards normalcy with the election of the Republican Party back into power in both the Executive and Legislative Branches. But the undercurrent of the progressive values system still infests the minds of millions of young people. The battle must continue to decontaminate the minds of these young people.
