A Few Israeli Hostages Finally Freed! Home at Last!

In a heartbreaking situation, Israel found itself forced into a tortuous exchange, wherein Israel received 4 of its precious young female soldiers back from a life of pure torture as hostages to Hamas terrorists. But in return, Israel was forced to let out more than a hundred of the most vicious Arab killers, many of whom were serving life sentences.

No normal person could not feel the tremendous sigh of relief for the families and the young women who just experienced more than a year of pure hell under Hamas as hostages. But everybody also knows that allowing the most dangerous criminals and terrorists back out onto the streets of Israel is the most sure-fire way to make sure that terrorism will just grow and fester in the Land of Israel.

We are living in very odd times. One of the most pro-Israel Presidents, arguably the most pro-Israel President of the United States, surrounded by a very pro-Israel cadre of advisers just began his 2nd term with one of the most terrible decisions. To basically force Israel’s hand, instead of forcing the hand of Hamas via pressuring Qatar and Iran, in order to get his way, Donald Trump just singlehandedly forced Israel into an impossible situation.

No sane leader of any country would want to be on Trump’s wrong side at the beginning of his 2nd term. On the other hand, Trump just forced Israel to do exactly what he has been railing against the Democrats for doing over the last four years – letting the criminals and illegals threaten the well-being of the law-abiding citizens.

It is still very early in the 2nd Trump administration. Donald Trump may yet prove to be a President willing to shake up nearly every situation in order to get his way. But he will learn more quickly than he may want to that the United States indeed has checks and balances on the power of the Executive Branch and the countries of the world will not only bow to his pressure if he continues on a path of unbridled pressure. Even Bibi and the rest of Israel will rebel if he insists that the war must end without the destruction of Hamas in Gaza. Will Trump insist on Israel ending the war prematurely? If so, he is in for a surprise. And it won’t just come from Israel. There are enough Congressmen, Senators, and Trump appointees who will stop Donald Trump if he goes too far.
