The Jewish People are the “Chosen” People, But What Does That Mean?

People think that the Jewish people are the “chosen people” because we are better than others, special and loved more by the one above. But that understanding is totally wrong.

The Jewish people are called the “chosen” people not because we are any better than other people, but because the one above chose us with a special purpose. We were chosen with a heavy responsibility. It is up to us, as a people and as individual Jews, to fulfill that purpose. Not every Jew understands this purpose or wants to fulfill it. But this is ultimately what we are all about as a people.

If you think about it, the existence of the Jewish people defies all logic. We are the most persecuted people from time immemorial. In each and every generation we have enemies out to destroy us, either physically or spiritually. Yet, we have survived. Our existence as a people is proof that G-d exists! This isn’t because the one above loves us any more than his other creations, but before he has a purpose for us to fulfill. He, therefore, keeps us alive as a people to fulfill our purpose!

I hope this new understanding of the Jewish people as the chosen people will inspire more people to better understand what it means to be a Jew.

Return O’Israel

In this video I was interviewed by Anthony Abma, director of Return O’ Israel, a movement of Christians who are focused on growing support for the Jewish state of Israel to apply sovereignty over our Biblical homelands in Judea and Samaria.
