Are these the top 10 moments of the Jewish year. I’m not sure. But they certainly are all newsworthy events that raised our eyebrows.

Holocaust Survivor, Spidermen and a Chabad Orphan

The Top Ten moments of the last year include a Holocaust survivor reunion, Spidermen Purim gifts and a massive trip to Israel.

The most heart-wrenching story includes Prime Minister Netanyahu and a Chabad orphan in India. This little boy will one day grow up to be a leader of the Jewish people.

US Embassy Move

However, unquestionably, one of the most momentous events of the year for the Jewish people was the inauguration of the US embassy in Jerusalem. This was so long overdue. Yet, it was still a major event when it finally took place.

It was more of a symbolic act than anything else. But symbolism should not be underestimated. The best proof that this was a big deal is the massive amount of opposition to the big move. There were threats of massive riots and even worse. In the end, Jerusalem which has always been Israel’s capital is now the recognized capital by the US.

JLI – Jewish Learning Initiative

The JLI is the adult learning division of the worldwide Chabad movement. They produced this cute Top 10 video and guess what? They made it into the Top 10 – twice! That’s OK. They do so much great work – they fully deserve tremendous credit for all of their activities. They are very much on the forefront of connecting world Jewry to the traditions, people and Land of Israel.
