Yishai displayed, with straight pro-Israel pride and an excellent hold of the facts, what every leader of the State of Israel should be espousing, namely, the right of the Jewish people to it’s Land and to fight back against the terrorists trying to destroy her. It is unfortunate that this needs to be spelled out and defended, but it simply does need to be said loud and clear, without any apologetics. Yishai is a rare voice that has solidly been standing up for the Jewish people for decades.

As for the accusation that Itamar Ben Gvir is a radical settler who’s policies represent a fringe of Israeli society, it is time to set the record clear. Ben Gvir is a personality who probably represents more than a few hundred thousand residents of the State of Israel. Plain and simple, many people, especially young people, are drawn to vote for him.

But moreover, his policies of making sure that to ensure the safety of the masses, Israel allows and even encourages more civilians to carry guns for their safety, are very popular. The number of people who are accused – not convicted – of performing vigilante activities, are in the single digits. Nobody receives a license to buy an AK-47. It is about carrying a simple handgun for self-defense.

Yet the number of attacks by Arabs on Israelis is in the hundreds every month. Ben-Gvir’s policies have literally saved the lives of hundreds of people this year alone. It is true that Ben-Gvir has moderated somewhat since his youth. But he has stuck with his central values of Jewish pride and demanding full victory in order to justify his continues support for the government of Netanyahu. That has also pushed the government towards a more victory-oriented solution. Ben Gvir probably won himself a few more votes due to this also.
