WhatsappJoe Biden is still President of the United States because Jill Biden, Barack Obama, and other power brokers of the Democrat Party want to keep hold of the reins of power till the bitter end. Clearly, Joe Biden has been physically unfit for a few years, perhaps even from the very beginning of his term in office. But he continues – perhaps all the way till Jan. 20th, 2025 – to make mistakes with massive repercussions in the Middle East and Ukraine.
Israel’s Prime Minister knows his population. More than Netanyahu is a master leader, he is a master politician, a political acrobat who understands how to work the Israeli political system to his advantage. This has led him to be the Prime Minister who has stayed in power longer than any other Israeli leader in modern history.
But in addition to his leadership at home, he has also mastered the art of dealing with anti-Israel Presidents of the United States. He knew that Israel would have to endure two years of impossible pressure from an Obama administration in 2008 as the Democrats also controlled Congress. But he properly saw that by 2010, Obama would be far less powerful as the Democrat hold on Congress disappeared in the mid-term elections. This meant that Netanyahu had support in America that he could rely on that would push back on difficult policies by the Obama administration. What ensued were six years of difficulty, but Netanyahu, with much support from Republicans in Congress, largely held the line and did not implement the policies that the Obama administration tried to shove down the throats of the State of Israel.
As opposed to Israel where there are very few checks and balances, where Prime Ministers, Supreme Court Judges and the press largely serve as competing fiefdoms dominating a democratically elected Knesset, America indeed has significant checks and balances. The most important check on the power of any President is the House of Representatives. The most important check on the House of Representatives is the President. Supreme Court Judges are only nominated by the President, but they endure a grueling acceptance process by elected representatives in the Senate. Netanyahu sees clearly what Biden does not. Biden is a lame duck President to be ignored who’s poor leadership help the Democrats lose Congress too. Was there even one Democrat running for Congress who asked Joe Biden to support him?
As Biden ramped up the sanctions on Israel during Israel’s time of need, Netanyahu responded with Israeli bravery. That was the most effective response towards the Biden adminstration. It also sent a strong signal to voters and political supporters of Israel that the Democrats are not to be trusted as far as Israel’s security. That’s yet another one of the many reasons that Kamala Harris was shellacked in the election by Donald Trump. Voters like leaders with spines who stand up for what is right, not cowards who don’t even realize the limits of their own powers.
