USA: “The Big One Is Coming”

NATO backed forces are increasing their attacks on the Donbas region in hopes of pushing Russian Federation troops and their allies out of the Ukrainian East. While this is is highly unlikely, the hope is that Russia will continue to have set back after set back before the winter.

The challenge to NATO is that we have seen this strategy before. From Napoleon to Hitler, Western forces always push way too far against Russia and then fall apart when winter arrives. Russians love fighting in the winter and that appears to be what is about to happen in Ukraine.

Putin has already ordered forces to help pull back civilians in Kherson and it appears that the same move is being repeated in other areas. This is because Russia needs the civilians cleared before its troops wage the type of war the Russian army is accustomed to.

NATO is committing itself to fighting Russia hundred percent. However, this strategy may be its undoing. The further it is drawn into a Ukrainian quagmire, the more the US military and its allies will lose ground to America’s real enemy – China.

Navy Admiral Charles Richard, commander of U.S. Strategic Command, said as much this week at a conference.

“This Ukraine crisis that we’re in right now, this is just the warmup. The big one is coming. And it isn’t going to be very long before we’re going to get tested in ways that we haven’t been tested – for a long time,” he said. “As I assess our level of deterrence against China, the ship is slowly sinking. It is sinking slowly, but it is sinking, as fundamentally they are putting capability in the field faster than we are.”

The challenge for America is that it is stretched way too far to handle both Russia that has nothing to lose and a China that is about to surpass it. China appears to be using the Russian conflict to weaken the West and when it is ready- Beijing will pounce. Given this point – there is nothing for them to do.

This is why, the incoming Netanyahu government would be wise to restore neutrality in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict until its clear if America really can hold its own in a changing world. Israel needs to bolster its relations with Greece and Cyprus and strengthen its alliance with India as well as the Arab Sunni Gulf states, leaving the big powers to duke it out amongst them. If not the Jewish State risks being pulled into an international conflict not of its making.
