The pleasure of song. That is what we feel when we see this couple perform together. What a perfect way to start the New Year.
Rosh HaShana – Jewish New Year
According to the Bible, the Jewish New Year is actually in the springtime. However, there are additional New Years throughout the Jewish calendar. One of the Jewish New Years is the one in the autumn. The New Year for kings. This means that at this point in the year, God refreshes the world or recreates the world. We observe the Holy Days of the Day of Judgement and the Day of Atonement.
How should one approach these days? Some may say that one needs to keep a solemn approach. After all, is there any other choice when we are dealing with the Lord Judging the world?
The answer is yes. We approach these days with seriousness, but with happiness, excitement, and yes – song.
Song – Key to the Soul
Some say that the eyes offer a window into one’s soul. That may be true, but the key to feeling one’s soul, is song. Song – even when the words are beautiful is less an intellectual experience. It is more of an emotional experience that we connect to with different parts of our brain and heart.
When a couple sings together, the harmony is unique. This window into the soul of happiness is what this couple provides for us. Enjoy and have a happy and sweet new year!
